FocusX
FocusX is made by an independent developer (“we”, “us”). We built it to help you focus, not to collect data about you. This policy explains what little information is involved when you use the FocusX app and the focusx.app website, and the choices you have.
The short version
No account. No ads. No tracking across apps or websites. We don’t sell or rent personal information. Your goals, projects and tasks are stored on your device — and, if you turn on iCloud sync, in your own private iCloud — where we can’t read them.
Data that stays on your device
Everything you write in FocusX — goals, projects, tasks, dates, reminder times, completion times and settings — is stored locally on your iPhone, inside storage shared only with FocusX’s own widgets and Live Activities. It never reaches our servers; we don’t operate any.
Reminders are local notifications scheduled on your device. Widgets, Live Activities, the wallpaper generator, Shortcuts and Siri actions all run on your device through iOS.
iCloud sync (FocusX Plus)
If you have FocusX Plus and keep iCloud sync on, your FocusX data is stored in your private iCloud database under your Apple Account so it can appear on your other devices. Apple processes this data under Apple’s privacy policy. We have no access to your private iCloud database. You can turn sync off in FocusX settings at any time; data already on your device stays there.
Purchases
FocusX Plus is sold through the App Store. Apple processes the payment; we never receive your name, card or billing details.
To confirm purchases and understand how the Plus offer performs, the app uses RevenueCat, Inc. as a service provider. RevenueCat receives App Store transaction information (product, price, currency, country, purchase and renewal dates), a random identifier created by the app, basic device and app details (device model, iOS version, app version, language) and your IP address. It is used only for purchase records and aggregate analytics — never for advertising. See RevenueCat’s privacy policy.
Diagnostics from Apple
If you choose to share analytics with app developers in iOS settings, Apple may provide us with anonymized, aggregated crash reports and usage statistics. We use them only to fix bugs and improve the app.
When you email us
If you write to support@focusx.app or privacy@focusx.app, we receive your email address and whatever you include in the message. We use it only to reply and help you, and delete it on request.
The focusx.app website
This website has no cookies, no analytics and no third-party trackers. Your browser’s local storage is used only to remember that you dismissed the language suggestion.
The site is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes technical data such as IP addresses and browser information to deliver and protect the site. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
Legal bases and international transfers
Where the GDPR or similar laws apply, we process personal data to provide the app and your purchases (performance of a contract), to keep the service secure and understand purchase performance (legitimate interests), and to answer your messages (legitimate interests or your request).
Apple, RevenueCat and Cloudflare may process data in the United States and other countries. They rely on recognized safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
How long we keep data
Data on your device and in your iCloud stays under your control until you delete it. Purchase records held by RevenueCat are kept as long as needed for accounting and legal obligations. Support emails are kept only as long as needed to help you.
Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal data, to object to or restrict processing, and to complain to your local data protection authority. California residents have the right to know and delete personal information and are never discriminated against for exercising these rights; we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context advertising.
To delete FocusX data, delete the app; to remove synced data, go to Settings › your name › iCloud › Manage Storage › FocusX. For anything else — including deleting purchase analytics held by RevenueCat — write to privacy@focusx.app.
Children
FocusX is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Security
Data is protected by iOS data protection on your device and by Apple’s encryption in iCloud. Connections to RevenueCat and to this website use encryption in transit.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date above and, for significant changes, let you know in the app.
